Yay! Popular with locals and visitors alike, “Music Under the Stars” starts May 15th for the 2012 season.
For those of you not familiar with The Tree House Cafe, “Music Under the Stars” is now in it’s 14th year. Local, (and a few imported!) musicians of every style imaginable play live music every night of the week. As well as every genre of music, there is everything from established local talent (Barefoot Thieves, Sweetwater Revolver, Julia Beattie), talented high schoolers (Wesley Hardisty, Wallabee Indeed) right through to famous musicians like Valdy (playing Sunday May 27th!) and the awesome Tom Hooper from the Grapes of Wrath.
Come early to get a table (they don’t take bookings although they do maintain a waitlist when busy) and sample the awesome Tree House Cafe fare. The music starts at 7pm and if you’re lucky – you’ll even see people dancing in the street!
Personally, we like to pick up an ice cream from Harlan’s (Salt Spring Gelato – yum!), hang out on a nearby rock or the boardwalk – and enjoy the live music.
