Bigger than the Downy but smaller than the Pileated or Flicker – this woodpecker is one of more recent visitors. We don’t see them all the time, but a fairly common sight on the feeder now.

A personal favourite is the beer and burger special on Thursday evenings. Food is generally good – service sometimes seems a little distracted – live entertainment is great!

Service can seem a little distracted at times, but the coffee and food is good! 250-537-1216 110 Lower Ganges Road
250-537-9339 132 Lower Ganges Road If you don’t find Brigitte at the Saturday Market then you HAVE TO go to Rendezvous (unless for some strange reason you don’t like delicious authentic French patisserie and other sweet and savoury treats….) You have to go round the back of the little complex that houses Rendezvous (Salt Spring Adventure is at the front) but once you find it – oh-la-la! Brigitte will have you wanting to go back for more (and more). A must visit! Have I convinced you….? A particular favourite is Canneles de Bordeaux, but there is so much to choose from. http://www.freewebs.com/brigitteatthemarket/ 250-537-8400 126-4 Upper Ganges Road
The pizzas from here are a well done and a good choice if you just want take out. 250-537-4451 142 Fulford Ganges Road
We have only ever eaten at the Greek Night, and have to say that the food was very good even if the room lacks a little atmosphere. I am sure we will go back and try it again at some point. 250-537-1760 805 Lower Ganges Road
We like to grab a couple of sausage rolls (each!) before heading out on a hike – its a great deal if you buy two – or at least that is our excuse. 174 Fulford Ganges Road |
